Duke Brands Going “ALL IN” on American Cancer Society Fundraiser, “Real Men Wear Pink”
Duke Brands, and its affiliated companies, Duke Foods and Duke Sandwich Company are approaching fundraising for American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness Month with several unique approaches
Greenville, SC — Duke Brands, and it’s affiliate companies, Duke Foods, in Easley SC, and Duke Sandwich Company, based in Greenville SC are embarking on a fundraising mission to raise over $10,000 through the Real Men Wear Pink program and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
A unique element of the fundraising initiatives is the donation of an actual racecar hood used in the Daytona 500 to be auctioned off at the 16th Annual American Cancer Society’s Gala Presented By Greenville Health System on November 9. This NASCAR hood features the iconic Clemson Tiger paw and celebrates Clemson University’s NCAA Football championship and is signed by coach Dabo Swinney with the Clemson motto, “ALL IN.” This item was initially offered as an auction item to the Clemson Foundation and has been graciously donated by Duke Brands CEO, Andrew Smart. The hood is currently on display both Duke Sandwich Company restaurants on Poinsett Highway and on Congaree Road in Greenville. All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society.
The Duke Family of companies is also taking part in the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” in October. Matt Haskell, Duke Brands Director of Marketing is one of 20 business leaders in Greenville that have committed to wearing pink for each day of October and raising at least $2500 directly for the American Cancer Society while raising awareness. In addition to fundraising, Mr. Haskell has a large “Real Men Wear Pink” logo decal on the sides of his truck that Greenville residents will see throughout the month of October. Additionally, the Duke Foods and Brands teams participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 7 in Greenville. The team consisted of over 40 walkers.
Company-wide, Duke Brands is driving awareness of Breast Cancer through donation and dedication cards at all of the company’s locations, a separate fundraising raffle for the Duke Brands and Duke Foods locations with local business support, and direct fundraising to the Real Men Wear Pink and Making Strides campaign pages. Donations can be made directly at www.dukebrands.com/pink or by visiting a Duke Sandwich Company location.
